LEAD GENERATION - EARNING NEW BUSINESS

10/28/2013

The first rule of being successful in business is having a market to sell to. You can have everything else in place – a perfect product, a compelling website, and “operators standing by” – but if you don’t have a target market, don’t know who your target market is, and don’t have any way to draw interested parties to your business, you won’t make any money.

Creating a marketing funnel that drives leads to you requires persistence, but it also requires leveraging available technology to take a multi-pronged approach. We recommend at the very minimum including content marketing (your blog, website, and sales page), email marketing (a monthly newsletter with a call to action), white papers (free information you provide to those who sign up to receive your newsletter), and guest blogging.

Content Marketing

Content marketing is the most crucial of all marketing efforts for gaining leads and remaining visible, especially in light of Google’s most recent algorithm changes. Your content needs to provide high quality information with no strings attached, optimized for the words you believe the ideal customer will use to find you, and mobilely visible for better local optimization.

Email marketing

Email marketing, via a newsletter or sales marketing campaign, allows you to reach people who have already signed up to get more information. Email marketing is a branch of content marketing. In other words, you still need to provide something of value in everything you send. Be sure to include a call to action that encourages your subscribers to buy your products or enlist your services.

White Papers

White papers allow you to offer detailed information on topics in which you specialize – in exchange for obtaining more information about the person. Whether or not you ever make a sale, knowing who it is that lands on your website and is interested enough to sign up to receive your white paper can reveal much about who you are reaching with your content.

Guest Blogging

Guest blogging on websites that already have more visibility than you do can not only provide you the opportunity to reach a larger audience but also help you bring those potential leads back to your website with an offer to download a white paper or sign up for a newsletter. Guest blogging is an often overlooked method for generating bigger, better leads and getting better credibility.

HOW TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS - 5 TIPS

10/21/2013

At The Boomja Network, we provide a number of resources to help clients grow their businesses. From partnering with marketing professionals in their efforts to improve the local organic search marketing rank of their clients to delivering high-quality keyword reports, our goal is to be a reliable business resource. We have compiled five of our favorite tips for growing your business successfully. What would you add?

1. Plan ahead. Knowing the direction your business is heading and setting goals that will help you remain on the right track is crucial to your success. Begin by building an overall business plan to help map how you will achieve your vision. Be sure to address areas such as budgeting, financial planning, marketing and staffing.

2. Network. Whether you’re building a local brick-and-mortar business or planning to compete on an international scale in ecommerce, networking is important. From joining your local chamber of commerce to connecting with people and companies on LinkedIn and in LinkedIn Groups, networking provides you with access to ideas, support and leads that you would not otherwise have.

3. Never stop learning. Being a business owner doesn’t mean you know everything, and being humble enough to seek help in the areas where you need it can mean the difference between success and failure. Outsource some of the minutiae of your business, so that you can focus on building relationships with business coaches and tech gurus. Successful business owners don’t do it all themselves.

4. Be visible.

Take advantage of both complimentary and expense options for making your business visible online, particularly to the growing mobile market. Develop a website and a social media presence, optimize your content for local organic search marketing, list your business in directories, and partner with corresponding businesses to help promote each others’ goods and services.

5. Be flexible.

Thanks to technology and mobile ubiquity, the business world is changing more quickly than ever. Remain competitive by being flexible enough when changes do occur and open-minded enough to try new ideas.

GAINING COMPETITIVE ONLINE ADVANTAGES AS A COSMETIC SURGEON

As more and more people turn to the Internet instead of telephone directories and other print marketing in order to choose services, cosmetic surgeons face increased challenges in remaining visible to their local clientele. It takes more than just launching a website with a list of your specialized services to reach your target market.

Local Organic Search Optimization Cosmetic surgery is a highly-competitive area, and most cosmetic surgeons target a very localized market. Because most cosmetic surgical procedures are so intimate, clients typically come from the community in which the surgeon works as well as the surrounding areas. Optimizing your web content to reach that local audience is crucial. Most cosmetic surgeons benefit from using a combination of press releases, social media marketing, blogging and local media exposure.

There are a number of different ways you can improve your local organic search results within your city or town with better content. Our recommendations:
  • Regularly updating your website with blogs and articles
  • Identifying your location in combination with your keywords, such as Detroit breast enhancement instead of just breast enhancement
  • Pushing your content via a variety of social media channels, including the same locally-optimized keywords

Expanding Your Local Organic Search Reach in Cosmetic Surgery Marketing

While improving content and implementing SEO mechanisms on a cosmetic surgeon’s website can do wonders for improving overall search rank and organic search results  within a few local communities, the most competitive cosmetic surgeons take their efforts one step further in order to reach the top organic listing in search results for many more local markets: a listing in The Boomja Network’s Authoritative Plastic Surgery Marketing Portals.

Examples of successful portal listings include:
  • Laser Body Contouring – Madison CT
  • Laser Fat Removal – North Haven CT
  • Spider Vein Treatment Weston CT

When you run a search on these locally optimized key phrases, you will see that Boomja’s network dominates the top local organic results:

WILL THE U.S. GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN AFFECT ONLINE MARKETERS?

10/7/2013

For the most part, online marketing will continue as usual during the government shutdown. Taxes are still being collected, so there’s no break for the hardworking among us. Most private enterprises will remain open and functioning, whether they are brick-and-mortar or online establishments.
But let’s say that you manage a travel marketing site. You likely have a list of national park links on your website that direct people to the various parks around the country, to help them plan their trips. Your links will now go to dead space, as most national parks have not only closed their entrances but also their websites.

Perhaps you manage an eCommerce business but your primary customers are federal government agencies. You may also be significantly affected by the government shutdown. Predictions suggest that if the shutdown lasts for any length of time, all businesses and individuals will be affected because of the negative impact it will have on the economy.

If you are being affected by the shutdown – and even if you’re not – this can be an opportunity for you to strengthen the foundation of your business to make it easier to survive the rough times inherent in a fluctuating economy. Rather than watch the news and fret over when or if the U.S. Congress will find compromise, use this time to your advantage:

  • Review your business plan and goals; bring them up to date.
  • Identify new markets you can target.
  • Focus on making your website and marketing efforts visible on mobile devices.
  • Create additional content for your site that helps you achieve better local organic search visibility.
  • Create images and videos to enhance your local marketing efforts.
  • Take time to enlist in volunteer efforts or donate to charities that are helping the people who are critically impacted by the shutdown, such as women and children supported by WIC, as well as our nation’s Veterans.

Post offices, airlines, social security, Medicare and unemployment offices are scheduled to continue uninterrupted.

How is the shutdown impacting you?
