OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES OF LOCAL SEARCH OPTIMIZATION: USING IMAGES AND VIDEO

In this fourth and final post in our local organic search optimization series, we continue to discuss the challenges businesses face when trying to achieve better visibility, particularly in targeted locations where the business has no physical presence.

Why is it so much harder to achieve success when you have no physical location in the market you’re trying to reach? Google+ limits local organic exposure to physical address, so listing service areas on web pages no longer generates local organic results in these areas.

As Google and other search engines continue to refine the way results are delivered, businesses must continue to enhance their visibility, and visual media – images and video – are two of the most powerful ways to enhance local organic search results.

Enhancing Local Organic Search with Images

Images are quickly shared on social media and are often the top format to go viral. Whether you are sharing images on Facebook, Pinterest or other platform, make sure that you utilize highly descriptive file names (utilizing longtail keywords) and descriptions. Even more important than the file name and keyword, however, is the ability to geotag images.

Enhancing Local Organic Search with Video

Video in particular ranks well and swiftly adds visibility, but it’s more than a matter of simply recording a video and posting it. Google owns YouTube, and YouTube is now the second-highest ranking site, making it a powerful platform for reaching new markets. Videos can increase sales conversions for advertisers, especially using The Boomja Network’s ability to localize videos and images to help advertisers sell and convert sales in all the markets they need to reach, particularly when they do not maintain a physical presence in the location. Just as your content must be properly optimized, so must your videos. In addition to creating compelling and shareable videos, the title, description and keywords used in conjunction with the video must be carefully chosen to enhance local organic search results.

From identifying and incorporating longtail keywords to being listed in an established high-ranking network portal to creating compelling and optimized content, images and video, there are a number of steps that must be taken to improve and enhance local organic search results. Boomja is here to help you with every step. Contact us to find out how we can help you expand the search engine rankings for your top keywords in all the local markets you need to reach.

OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES OF LOCAL SEARCH OPTIMIZATION: CREATING COMPELLING CONTENT

This is the third in a series of posts designed to shed light on the challenges to and solutions for achieving better organic local search optimization.

As local search technology continues to become even more vital to businesses that wish to position themselves with a global competitive advantage, marketing based on geographic location is crucial.

Local organic search optimization, especially for businesses that do not have a physical presence in the location they are targeting, is a necessary growth step. In our previous posts, we discussed the importance of being listed in established, high-ranking network search portals like the Boomja Network's, as well as the importance of identifying and implementing the proper longtail keywords.

This post will discuss how longtail keywords can be used in conjunction with compelling content to further enhance local organic search results.

Savvy Consumers Drive More Targeted Marketing

When consumers first turned to the Internet to discover products and services, they were very generic about the terms they used to find what they wanted, so simple keyword optimization worked. Now consumers are far savvier. The search terms they use to find products and services have narrowed significantly. Rather than searching for “lawyer in Bridgeport,” a consumer will now enter an entire search string: “experienced DUI lawyer in Bridgeport.”

By maintaining highly relevant and high quality content listings that match the pages of the portal (as ours do) and points to client landing pages that are also highly relevant and high quality, better results are achieved in local organic search. For example, if you search for “Mole and Vole Removal Branford CT” and follow our listing in the search, then click on our clients URL on our page, you will notice the great content flow all the way through onto his page, which is extremely informative.  This client is killing it in search and in sales.

Trying to game the search engines will always, inevitably, backfire. There are tremendous opportunities, however, for businesses that recognize that persistence and consistency pay far greater rewards than trying to buy their domain to the top of the list.  The most intelligent way to improve a client's site is to populate it with interesting and useful content and anecdotes – content that attracts targeted audiences and search engines alike by using these longer, more specific search strings.

Consistently creating compelling content – following our five rules for creating content – is the next step to achieving success with local organic search optimization. You must provide your readers with something of value while also providing something for search engines to grasp.

In our final post of the series, we’ll discuss how using images and video can further enhance your local organic search optimization efforts. Contact us to find out how we can help you expand the search engine rankings for your top keywords in all the local markets you need to reach.

OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGE OF LOCAL ORGANIC SEARCH OPTIMIZATION: THE POWER OF BOOMJA’S CUSTOM SEARCH PORTALS

This is the second in a series of posts designed to shed light on the challenges to and solutions for achieving better organic local search optimization.

With all of the major search engines now employing local search technology, optimizing local search results is crucial. In our last post, we discussed the use of longtail keywords to help achieve visibility in markets where the business has no physical location. The use of generic, high-level keywords is not enough to capture visibility; you have to use longtail keywords that carefully target your market.

Employing keywords, however, is not enough. Boomja has built, over the course of two decades, a solid network of search portals. This network is exclusive to Boomja clients, providing them with immediate and consistent results for local visibility. Hundreds of thousands of our pages have continued to survive algorithm changes and other online purges for nearly two decades (since the beginning of the public internet) because we continue to provide search engines with unique, unbiased destination pages that match exactly what targeted audiences are searching for - in the specific locations they are hoping to find it.

The Boomja Network is a unique, powerful and cost-efficient ally to any local organic search campaign.

Why a Search Portal Network Is Necessary

The motivations of search engines are two-fold: one, to keep search results more neutral and clean; and two, to sell paid search programs. Consider two very basic realities of managing a search engine:

  1. How viable an engine would you have if you allowed major advertisers to dominate local organic search results in all the cities they desired for all the keywords they desired?  Would you continue to use this search engine knowing almost any search would probably turn up top natural listings for one brand - one selection?

  2. Why would any major brand spend money on AdWords campaigns when they could dominate a local organic search wherever they choose for whatever product/service keywords they choose?

Boomja leverages the ability of our authoritative portals to rank in local organic results in many cities, so clicks bring searchers to our client's listings. It is a two-step process. There is no way to get any client's URL to dominate local organic search in locations (particularly many locations) outside of those where they have a physical presence, and while clients would naturally prefer their URL to appear, search engines do not and will not permit it.

The Benefits of a Search Portal Network

Our authoritative portals rank in local organic results in many cities, so clicks bring searchers to our clients’ listings. This two-step process is designed to help businesses dominate local organic search in locations outside of those where they have a physical presence. Rather than trying to force the business URL into the top ranks (which is a nearly impossible and extremely costly effort), the Boomja Network is a proprietary system designed to promote businesses through a well-developed and already-ranking portal customized to attract an advertiser’s top audiences. The Boomja Network is a unique, powerful and cost-efficient tool to enhance any local organic search campaign. The Boomja Network therefore has the ability to create custom sales opportunities in all the local markets an advertiser needs, rather than just lump them into general product categories as our competitors do.

So the use of targeted, longtail keywords is the first step to optimizing local organic search, listing your business in a powerful customized portal is the second step.

In our next post, we will discuss how to employ longtail keywords successfully into compelling content for further enhancement of local organic search optimization. Contact us to find out how we can help you expand the search engine rankings for your top keywords in all the local markets you need to reach.

OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES OF LOCAL ORGANIC SEARCH OPTIMIZATION: KEYWORD SELECTION

This is the first in a series of posts designed to shed light on the challenges to and solutions for achieving better organic local search optimization. In this post, we’ll discuss the art of local optimization and how it can enhance your SEO efforts; in subsequent posts, we’ll discuss the Boomja network, the power of creating the right kind of content, and how implementing the use of image and video can further enhance results.

Yahoo, Bing and Google now employ local search technology to display search results based on the geographic location of the searcher. Becoming visible in your local market – even one in which you have no physical presence – is crucial. A business may easily be able to maintain visibility in a single local market where it has a physical presence, but we help businesses replicate that visibility in hundreds or thousands of local markets in which they do not have a physical presence through.

The Boomja Network Difference

The Boomja Network's approach to local organic search optimization is to implement longtail variations of keywords that have large search volumes and accurately target prospects. This enables advertisers to create sales opportunities for specific products in local search in any outside market they need to reach. While our competitors typically offer only general business category listings and the city they are in, we offer incredibly specific niche categories that provide significant leverage for selectively targeting by location and service through the use of carefully nuanced longtail keywords.

By implementing a competitive URL structure using small and efficient targets with each keyword in the URL, we are able to improve rank even in areas where competition is likely. The more general and highly competitive keywords like "pest control," "lawyers," "personal injury lawyers," "real estate," etc. are difficult, if not impossible, to compete with, particularly in larger cities.

Step one to successful local organic search optimization, then, is to employ the proper combination of longtail keywords and accurate targeting.

Yet keywords alone are not enough. In our next post, we’ll discuss how the change in search algorithms has made the Boomja Network directory a critical component of local organic search optimization success. Contact us to find out how we can help you expand the search engine rankings for your top keywords in all the local markets you need to reach.
